The People Place was founded in Bentonville in 2020 by Corretta Woodard, LPC, on the conviction that Northwest Arkansas needed therapy that didn't make people feel like they had to leave parts of themselves at the door.
The practice grew out of the Agape Center and into its own identity. Unapologetically Dope became shorthand for the kind of work that happens here. Real people, real conversations, real growth. Not the sanitized, polished, Pinterest-perfect version of mental health. The honest version.
Today the team is six licensed clinicians strong, plus a practice manager and admin team that holds the whole operation together. We see adults, couples, families, teens. We work in English and Spanish. We accept the major Arkansas insurance plans. We do telehealth and in-person.

What we believe
Faith, hope, and love. The three values that started The People Place stay at its center, however a client expresses them.
Authenticity over performance. Therapy is for you, not for how you'll look afterward.
Diverse care for a diverse Northwest Arkansas. The Bentonville we serve is from everywhere. The clinicians match.
Access matters. Insurance acceptance, sliding scale self-pay, evening hours, telehealth, and Spanish-language services all live here because access is half the battle.
Our new chapter
In 2026, The People Place entered a new chapter under the ownership of Heath and Brooke Johnston. Corretta remains an active clinician here. The brand voice she built remains the brand voice. The team she assembled remains the team.
The new ownership is investing in the parts of the practice that allow more of Corretta's vision to reach more people: better access, broader visibility, and continued investment in the team.
